I have released a vaporwave album called Class Of '97 under the name 9:25 am, check it out!

Yes, that's right! You read that correctly, I am actually gonna release an album next week!

For the past 5-6 years, I have been a fan of the internet genre called vaporwave. I have always had a fascination for the music and art style and finally decided to make some of my own music, under the name 9:25 am

And after months of making music in my room, I have finally finished the album! Newgrounds, I proudly present to you:

Class Of '97

Class Of '97 is a Utopian Virtual album about a virtual college called 925 University.

The idea of the album was inspired by the different colleges that I studied at, as well as my fascination for retro video game OST from SNES and PSX games.

Since vaporwave is a genre inspired by nostalgia, I wanted to create my own Hauntology by creating a nostalgic feeling from a memory that does not really exist. The result being this album that is the soundtrack of this oldskool video game about studying at college.

It's coming out July 31!

I haven't been active here throughout the past 3-4 years and mostly just come here every once in a while but I still care a lot about this website and wanted to share some life updates.

First of all, I have graduated from my performing arts major!!!

I now have a vocational college degree in acting lol

Back in February I had an admission for the Audiovisual Design bachelor at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and I got accepted! As I'm now gonna be an official art school student I might even post some work here on Newgrounds.

Not sure what I'll be making there yet but at least it will be better than the weird MSPaint things I made over a decade ago here lol

Speaking of which;

I'm slowly getting older as I have actual internet activity from ten years ago on websites now, lol

Also, lately I have been occupied with HZTeam, it's the youth platform of Het Zuidelijk Toneel (The Southern Theatre) of the Netherlands.

At this group I'm part of the social media crew and host HZTV, a Dutch web series in which reporters visit various theatre festivals or interview by-passers in the theme of upcoming shows and performances of HZT.

do you ever just reflect on your original goals and dreams and wonder if they're still the same?

believe it or not, my dream was always to become a disney channel star and I made pretty much all my internet activity "disney friendly" and never posted any profanity or disturbing content, except for occasional dark or strange humour

recently I had this realisation that I have grown out of this dream and that I rather want to become myself than a disney star and I feel like I released myself from some kind of censorship cage and feel more freedom in the art that I create and post (by art I mean the things that I (want to) create, not necessarily the stuff I posted to the art portal lol)

I was always worried too much that I was gonna mess up my chances there somehow while in reality, no one would really care if I ever posted something that isn't disney friendly, especially here on newgrounds! 
I gotta learn to appreciate myself more and care less about what others think about me and more what's great about me

I've been obsessed with psychology and improving myself, hopefully this will provide some beautiful results in the future!

I should be on Newgrounds more often, I still want to contribute to this website and help bring creative ideas to life but I just have been busy with college and various projects on the side.

One of those projects was working on a presentation in a week based on the stage play Platonov by Theater Utrecht, I wrote a spoken word poetry about how the internet is my best friend and I kinda want to continue with the text I wrote and make a longer version that's also in English. It's definitely gonna be posted as audio here on Newgrounds so I can also use this website as a creative platform.

My performance can be found below, it's in Dutch but with English subtitles that are mostly literal translations as some lines only made sense in Dutch.

Today, ten years ago, I decided to make a profile on Habbo Hotel and since "Caesár the cool dude" or whatever I was gonna name my Habbo character was taken I decided to call my avatar Zerodecoole. And thus the legendary username was born.

My Habbo profile is older than the kids that use Habbo.

Do you ever discover a video, song or meme that becomes pretty relevant a few days/weeks/months later? 

Because that happens to me a lot. A while ago I discovered the soundtrack of the GameBoy Advance game of the film Robots composed by @MagicalTimeBean, you did a great job btw I really love this soundtrack!

I put the song on my channel's GBA OST playlist and also posted the song to Reddit in the vaporwave inspiration subreddit and it barely got a few upvotes lol

But I kid you not, the song has been shared on a Tumblr blog only a few weeks ago and now it's becoming pretty relavant heheheheh nice
 

Did you ever discover something before it became popular? 

Also I made this animation a few days ago for my Instagram profile where I post art stuff that's better than the art that I post on my Newgrounds profile hahahahah

I did not forget the Fruity Pebbles threads that @angrybirds2000 posted back in 2015
